A portion of the content in LabelDataPlus is similar to that found on the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) DailyMed web site. LabelDataPlus additionally includes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), OTC Monograph drugs, Homeopathic drugs, and Unapproved drugs. Drugs identified as "unapproved" have not undergone review by the FDA for safety and efficacy and their labeling has not been approved. The information found in LabelDataPlus and the NLM’s DailyMed is Structured Product Labeling (SPL) information submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
